LOU MACARI MBE TO BE HONORARY STARTER OF THE POTTERS’ARF MARATHON

One of the region’s most popular and respected figures, Lou Macari MBE, is set to be the honorary starter for Staffordshire’s biggest running event,  the Potters ’arf Marathon on Sunday, 4 October.

Lou, who was awarded the MBE in June this year for services to football and tackling homelessness in Stoke on Trent, will be reserving a special cheer for the dozens of runners who will be taking part for the charity he founded a decade ago, the Macari Foundation.

Since 2016, the former Stoke City FC manager and Manchester United star, has become a driving force in helping the city’s homeless by providing accommodation, food and support alongside a dedicated team of staff.
